How do I register?
- In order to enroll in one of our courses, you must first register to the platform.
- To register:
- Click the Register/Login link in the top right corner of the homepage.
- Fill in the required fields and click the Register button at the bottom of the page.
- You will be redirected to the homepage and automatically logged in.
- You may now enroll in one of Beyond Benign’s courses!
How do I begin a course?
- From the homepage click the “View Courses” button or the “Courses” button in the top right corner.
- Choose the course you would like to enroll in.
- Scroll down to “Register for full course here:” or “Register for individual sessions here:” and choose your desired option.
- Under Get Started, click “Take this course”.
- You are now enrolled and can begin taking the course!
How do I reset my password?
- To reset your password while logged in:
- Click the Profile button in the top right corner of the homepage.
- Click the Edit profile link under your username.
- Scroll down to “New Password” and click “Set New Password”.
- Type in your new password and hit enter/return on your keyboard.
- To reset your password while logged out:
- Click the Register/Login link in the top right corner of the homepage.
- Under the login, click “Lost your password?”.
- Enter your username or email address and click “Get new password”
- Click the link sent to your email and enter your new password.
- Click “Save Password” and login with your new password.
How do I obtain my certificate?
- After completing the full course, on the course homepage there will be a “Download Certificate” button which will generate a PDF that can then be downloaded.
- Alternatively, in your profile under your courses, click the certification icon in between the course name and “complete”. This will generate the same PDF that can be downloaded.
How do I get my name to display correctly on my certificate?
- Click the Profile button in the top right corner of the homepage.
- Click the Edit profile link under your username.
- Enter the First Name and Last Name you want to display on the certificate.
How do I join the course groups on the GCTLC?
- If you do not have a GCTLC account, create a free account.
- Once your account is confirmed or if you already have an account, click the Introduction to Undergraduate Green Chemistry Teaching and Practice Online Course Group link.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Request to Join button and follow the instructions. Allow 1–2 business days for your request to be approved and watch for a confirmation email.
Why are the course videos not playing?
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Privacy Settings” link.
- Under Categories, ensure that “Functional” is turned on.
- Under Services, ensure that “Vimeo” is turned on.
- Refresh the page.
- If you are still not able to watch the videos, try using a new private browser or using a different browser than the one you are currently using (Google Chrome, FireFox, Safari, etc.).
How can I track my progress in the course?
- Your progress is automatically tracked for you!
- View your progress with the progress bar located at the top of the course homepage as well as in the top toolbar as you are taking the course.

- Please verify that your browser is up to date and your privacy settings are at least set to “functional”.
