Session 3 will explore how to teach Green Chemistry holistically, with examples from various disciplines, including general, analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry courses, as well as some upper-level courses. The session will showcase Green Chemistry course development examples that align with academic and professional guidelines.

Additionally, the session will feature a brief reflective exercise, allowing participants to assess the resources required to incorporate Green Chemistry concepts into an activity, course, or curriculum within their department.

The session will conclude with an assignment where participants propose attainable modifications to traditional content to integrate Green Chemistry into a course they teach.

This session will empower educators to implement meaningful, incremental changes in their courses or curricula, bringing Green Chemistry into the classroom.

Session Learning Outcomes

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to implement course or curricular changes to incorporate Green Chemistry principles.
  2. Identify ideas for designing a dedicated Green Chemistry course.
